Our IT teams: Behind the scenes of daily business

Processes & Tools

The Processes & Tools team focusses on rolling out and optimising defined IT processes. This also includes specification management and offering user training in Austria and the other countries of the HOFER Group. From defining new requirements to supporting IT applications, this team is in charge of ensuring uniform, coordinated processes in the business systems.

Infrastructure

The Infrastructure team is indispensable for smooth digital operations: It manages the availability of PCs, operating systems, networks and more to provide optimal support for our over 22,000 colleagues working in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary and Slovenia. In addition, the department is driving exciting “New Work” initiatives with collaborative systems and examines support options using smart glasses and augmented reality. IT Security is in charge of digital security, providing security concepts and IT security consulting, IT data protection and much more.

Development

Are you fluent in JAVA, .NET and Angular and interested in further expanding your knowledge of programming languages? As part of the Development team, you design prototypes for innovation projects and carry out performance analyses and simulations. This allows our company to develop a wide range of agile software projects in-house, with short throughput times and at optimal cost.

From coding to corporate

From ordering systems in stores or finance applications, software for analysing supply chains in logistics or contract management in buying to HR systems such as payroll or our e-learning options – the work of our IT expert teams ensures that employees have access to custom-tailored IT solutions for their daily tasks and projects in all business units. Work at the interface of coding and practice and help us develop national and international applications for our digital future.

ALPHA Retail Network

Our ALPHA Retail Network team is our internal and external innovation driver. It organises events and manages our involvement in cooperative research projects with universities.

This team leads the change management and roll-out measures for major digitisation projects to support employees with the adaptation process and uses methods such as design thinking and other approaches.

Deployment Management Office

If national and international project management, organising training, people management and planning large-scale events sound exciting to you, you are in the right place in our Deployment Management Office. This unit manages the pilot phase and roll-out of comprehensive transformation projects and new releases.

IT, at an international scale

Eberstalzell as well as our International Management Holding (IMH) in Salzburg is home to the expert teams working to implement international topics from a wide range of IT areas such as designing efficient procedures in global buying, financial and administrative units.

HOFER drawing competition: winning entry featured on Christmas chocolate for employees

Our employees’ children showed off their artistic talent in the HOFER drawing competition in the entry categories “Christmas with the HOFER bear” and “My mum/dad working at HOFER”. The top prize was a EUR 300 HOFER shopping voucher and a HOFER teddy bear. Special highlight: the winning drawing is featured on this year’s Christmas chocolate for our employees.
