As Store Manager, Raphaela is responsible for her store and her store team of 15. She and her team strive to ensure optimum shopping experiences for our customers every day. In this interview, Raphaela talks about her first day of work and shares tips for potential applicants.
Raphaela, your first day of work was in 2009. What do you remember about your first impressions?
Raphaela: More than 11 years have gone by, but I still remember that day as if it were yesterday. There were lots of new impressions and I was invited to jump right in. I was immediately able to see how much I had achieved – a very encouraging experience.
What is your favourite HOFER memory?
Raphaela: The day I was promoted to Store Manager. I felt so overjoyed that I whooped and shed a few tears. I will never forget that moment.
Why did you apply to be a model for our new employer branding appearance?
Raphaela: I applied because I am proud of my career at HOFER and feel honoured to represent the HOFER workforce.
Raphaela, as a Store Manager, you are very familiar with our HOFER products. What is your favourite product?
Raphaela: That’s a tough question, there are so many! I love all of our BACKBOX in-store bakery items, but our pizza dough is excellent and Flying Power is of course a must.
What would be your advice for future colleagues?
Raphaela: Be ambitious and be prepared to work in a team. My employees are my second family. Be open to change and learn everything you can about HOFER. If you put in the effort, there is a world of opportunity.
